For the first time in the 25-year long history of Austin’s SXSW [South x Southwest] Music and Arts Conference, 2011 will be the first to host a regional stage showcasing the Capital’s top Hip Hop talent. The DC, Maryland, Virginia tri-state area, otherwise known as the DMV – has often been over-shadowed by competing regional genres (Go-Go, R&B, and Baltimore Club). However, in the last several years the region’s vibrant Indie hip hop scene has gained national attention and has the grabbed the eyes and ears of the music industry.
The DMVINCIBLE™ stage will take place Friday, March 18th at Prague located at 422 Congress Ave. As you enter through an old world iron gate, you spiral down a hand laid stone staircase into an underground environment beyond anything else in Austin. Semi-booths and private tables outline the club and provide a sexy and cozy environment perfect for large groups and bottle service. An elevated DJ booth and private back bar overlook the dance floor. Now known as Austin's "after-hours music hotspot" with business hours till 4am, Prague Night Club is a must on the nightlife list in Austin.
Headlined by some of the most prominent artists in the DMV, the DMVINCIBLE™ stage will showcase over twenty acts including: Tabi Bonney, Raheem DeVaughn, Kokayi, Bossman, Uptown XO (1/3 of Diamond District), Phil Ade, RatheMC, Gods'Illa, Harmony Muzik, and more. The DMVINCIBLE™ concert is poised to be the most exciting hip hop event all week long.
